TAKE 5 Guitar Tab – FINGERSTYLE

We have a easy and full fingerstyle version of our Take 5 Guitar Tab available for you to download. If you are new to fingerstyle guitar playing we recommend you start with the easy version.

All versions come with a video play through to help you learn the song. Below the video is a how to play guide with some useful tips to help you learn the song.

Take 5 was originally recorded and released by The Dave Brubeck Quartet for their 1959 album Time Out. The song was written by the band’s saxophonist Paul Desmond and became a surprise hit two years after its release. Today Take 5 is one of the biggest selling jazz hits of all time.

We also have The Beatles Fingerstyle Guitar Tab Collection that you can download now for free. It includes our versions of Yesterday, Let It Be, Something and Blackbird. There is an easy and full version of each song so you can start playing your favourite Beatles songs straightaway.

We release a new fingerstyle guitar tab every week. When you sign up to our mailing list this is emailed straight to your inbox.

You can keep up to date with our new fingerstyle tabs on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

How To Play Take 5 On Guitar

1. Learn The Chords To Take 5 GUITAR TAB

It’ll help if you know the chords to Take 5 before you learn my fingerstyle arrangement. Your hand will be familiar with some of the shapes you’ll be using and it’s a fun way to start playing the song.

All the chords are written above the tab on my fingerstyle version. However, if you don’t know the chord position I’ve included a chord sheet at the end of each tab.

2. Start With Take 5 GUITAR TAB EASY VERSION

Unless you’re confident with fingerstyle guitar it’s always best to start with the beginner versions of my songs. They’re simplified versions of my full arrangements and will help you move to the full version later.
